Opposing progressive liberalism, political correctness, and left-wing social engineering
I think without question most people want freedom of speech; however, the ‘freedom of speech’ issue has really only come to the fore in the last couple of decades since it has come under attack. And the irony is this: liberals, the very people who push for freedom, are the very people who consistently try to curb free speech; Paul Henry and Alasdair Thompson are two recent cases in point.
Moving on, now these same liberals appear to equate freedom of expression to freedom of speech. In the recent Lyall Pointon ‘nude jogging’ high-court case, Pointon’s lawyer said if the original decision went unchallenged, it would have had a "chilling effect" on freedom of expression. However, the problem with that is this: we’ve never really had nude, freedom of expression in New Zealand, so how can something we’ve never had be threatened? On the other hand, we’ve always had freedom of speech which is definitely being threatened thesedays.
I wonder when liberals will ever learn that their so-called freedom is always nullified by following laws to control it. And in some cases the freedoms introduced by liberals are eventually banned by liberals themselves when they finally wake up to the damage they cause. Liberals introduced nudity in San Francisco and now they have just canned it, led by Democrat Scott Wiener—yes, a Wiener no less.
But before discussing the ‘Wiener’ story more a look back into the not-so-distant history of San Francisco is called for; a look back to 1967 via Scott McKenzie’s San Francisco:
Well, alas, I’m afraid to say this, but our liberals bought into San Francisco’s hippie, make-love-not-war crap hook, line and sinker; they embraced it—to coin one of their own terms. And even more disturbing, they are still there; they are still there stuck in a time warp; they haven’t developed nor grown with age. There is a difference, however, they are no-longer the anti-establishment; they are the establishment.
After the gay-marriage bill was put on the table, it was quickly followed by the gay-adoption bill and then all the gays and nutcases seemed to come out of the woodwork; all of TVNZ’s gays came out, the Top Twins and other celebs came out, and now Justice Paul Heath has come out with his pinheaded decision to uphold the right to nude jogging.
Justice Heath compared the case with the hypothetical scenario of two patched gang members strolling along the same track.
"It would not be surprising for a person in the position of the complainant to be concerned and discomforted by their presence, and even to feel threatened," he said.
"However, on any view, their behaviour would not be regarded as offensive behaviour. Should the sight of a naked man, in the circumstances in which the complainant found herself, be treated any differently? I think not." Read more
What a ridiculous thing to say; I simply cannot connect the dots; how can a nude man be compared to a dressed man, or men in this case? Yes, both are intimidating but one is naked; imagine being a woman alone out in a remote area and you come across a naked man; more importantly, how can two negatives be compared to make one positive when neither have a place in New Zealand society?
But, no, liberals being the instant-gratification people they are will love this judge; being the one-dimensional thinkers they are will never consider the ramifications of the decision; they will never consider the rights of others who want a decent society; they will never consider the rights of others who don’t wish their children to be exposed to genitalia; the liberal only thinks about ‘me me me—now now now.’
The judge has just created the precedent for thousands of nutcase exhibitionists to strut their stuff, and it won’t be limited to remote bush areas; it will be on buses, in restaurants, and everywhere in public you can of. For sure this won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.
The San Francisco article that follows is a case in point; the very people liberal New Zealanders aspire to be like have just woken up from their comatose state; they have just closed down the nudists. The article clearly highlights how a handful of nudists soon becomes mainstream.
Scott Wiener on San Francisco's Ban on Public Nudity
We’ve always had public nudity in San Francisco—in our parades, beaches, and street fairs, as well as the random naked person wandering through the neighborhood. Public nudity was part of the quirkiness and fabric of the Castro. About two years ago that changed, and it became a seven-days-a-week kind of thing. Every day there were a few, or more than a few, naked men displaying themselves at Castro Farmers’ Market and elsewhere. It created a lot of tension and anger among our residents and, of course, our businesses also weren’t fans. There’d be lines of families waiting to get into the Castro Theatre, and naked guys would be walking around with their genitals at kids’ eye levels.
I didn’t want to rush to introduce legislation for something that might be an aberration, so I waited almost two years to see if it would go back to the way it used to be. Unfortunately, it only got more over the top. And eventually it got to the point where I needed to step in and take action. I knew there’d be significant resistance and opposition. That didn’t surprise me.
Some of my opponents tried to paint this as the straight people with kids invading the Castro with their strollers, and that’s not the case. It was mostly gay men complaining about it. People were saying, “Nudity is what San Francisco is all about! If you ban nudity, it’s the end of the spirit of the city.” Listen, did I dream of coming into office and writing legislation with the words “anal region” in it? No, I didn’t.
This was really a lose-lose for me, because it’s one of those issues where you’re going to upset people whatever you end up doing. But this is what local government is for—to respond to the issues affecting citizens where they live. I’ve been called everything: a prude, a puritan, a Nazi, a fascist. I’ve had people say I must not be well-endowed. That’s just politics. Last week after the legislation passed, people were screaming at me that I’m a Republican. I mean, come on. I’m the gay guy who represents the Castro. Really? As an elected official, there are times when there are issues you really don’t want to deal with. But you can’t just bury your head in the sand. —As told to Emma Rosenblum Source

Liberals aren't liberal about
Liberals aren't liberal about much at all that doesn't involve sex, hard drugs or spending other people's money. The four pillars of liberalism are all centered around death. Abortion, euthanasia, drugs and sodomy.

Exactly. If you have time, Urban, this video of Evan Sayet is well worth watching. The quality is not good but the content is; he clearly illustrates how the modern liberal thinks; what is good is bad and what is bad is good etc., etc.
