Denmark study: 16% of babies aborted after 12 weeks born alive

The hypocrisy of the liberal is absolutely astounding; in America, they run around pulling their hair out when some nutter shoots 20 children at a school when they, themselves, exterminate 1,032 babies past 24 weeks every year—more on that below.

Guns are bad………………………but abortion at 20 weeks is a legitimate good?

I am personally not a hard-liner on abortion; but I am definitely an advocate for personal responsibility and reasonableness. In general, I think abortion is okay in cases of rape or where a woman’s life is at risk, etc., but I am definitely opposed to it being a form of contraception which it is today. For the life of me, I can’t understand in this modern world with advanced forms of contraception including the ‘morning-after pill’ why women can’t be more responsible. Or perhaps that’s it; the modern-liberal woman doesn’t want to be responsible for herself; she wants everybody else including the government to be responsible for her—the Sandra Fluke et al.

Last year in America, the gun capital of the world, there were 8,583 gun murders; that number is alarming; however, no one says anything about the staggering 1.21 million abortions every year (stats from 2008).  

Of course most of those were short-term abortions; however, the following pro-late-term abortion site LateTermAbortion.net boasts only 1,032 late-term abortions are performed every year:

“The renowned Guttmacher Institute estimates that in the United States only .8% of abortions occur greater than 24 weeks. There is no strict definition for late term abortion, but most professional medical organizations agree that termination of pregnancy past 21 weeks is defined as late term abortion. It is estimated that only 1,032 abortion procedures have been performed in the U.S. for patients greater than 24 weeks.”

The image below shows an aborted baby at 24 weeks; it is hardly something to boast about, and it sure looks like life to me. But in the double-think-liberal mind this kind of murder is hunky-dory.

Then there were the Canadian statistics that showed 491 babies had been born alive during abortions over a 9 year period—again sanctioned by the liberal:

“Pro-life advocates are calling for a federal investigation after Canada’s official statistics agency has confirmed that 491 babies died after they were born alive during abortions between 2000 and 2009.”

Now this study out of Demark shows one in six babies aborted after 12 weeks were born alive. This raises the question: how many of the hunky-dory ‘1,032’ babies aborted in America after 24 weeks (approximately twice as old as in Demark) were alive and kicking?

AARHUS, Denmark, December 18, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In 2009 a Danish couple, Camilla Skovhus and Thomas Mikkelsen, decided to abort their late-term baby after an ultrasound showed that he likely had kidney disorders that might require dialysis and transplants after birth.

Staff at Aarhus Skejby hospital, where the abortion was performed, warned the couple that their baby might be born alive. He was. Their son lived a few hours after birth, dying slowly in his parents’ arms.

The following year the couple was pregnant again, only to be told once again that their son may suffer from the same kidney disorders. Once again the couple opted for a late-term abortion, and once again the child was born alive.

In both cases the couple held the babies, who they named Sejr and Hugo, and took pictures, then buried them in the cemetery.  They still feel they did the right thing.

The couple recounted their story to Kristeligt Dagblad in the wake of the release of a study showing that their experience is far from isolated.

For the last 15 months, doctors at Aarhus University Hospital at Skejby have tracked how many babies are born showing signs of life following second-trimester abortions.

Statistics from Denmark’s second largest maternity clinic at the hospital show that out of 70 babies subjected to late-term abortions between August 2011 and November 2012, eleven – or sixteen percent – were born alive. Read more
