I received my regular newsletter by Muriel Newman of NZCPR (New Zealand Centre for Political Research) this week only to read more disturbing news about how ordinary New Zealanders are being hijacked and ripped off by the Key administration along with their Maori-Party cohorts.

First, a look at how we are getting ripped off; the following, in part, is what Muriel Newman wrote this week in an article titled Money not Mana:
“The report by Fairfax media that Crown negotiators working for Treaty Negotiations Minister Chris Finlayson on the Treaty settlement process have picked up million dollar fees shows the Treaty of Waitangi grievance industry has become an insatiable gravy train not just for the iwi elite, but also for ex-politicians and the ‘in’ crowd. See: Tony Wall, Treaty cases earn top dollar for ‘top team’
The 14-strong negotiating team has been paid a total of $5.5 million. Michael Dreaver, an Auckland consultant was the highest earner at $1.5m, followed by Ross Philipson, formerly of the Ministry of Economic Development, who made just over $1m. Former Members of Parliament include justice minister Sir Douglas Graham (who was found guilty last year of making misleading statements while a director of Lombard Finance) who earned $186,901, former MP and iwi chairs forum member Tukoroirangi Morgan who received $439,085, and former Prime Minister Jim Bolger, who earned $29,912.”
Let’s be clear; the National Party, under John Key, is no more fiscally responsible than Labour. While they close schools in Christchurch all for the appearance of being fiscally responsible, here they are throwing money away at the Maori gravy train; those numbers above should make everyone shudder. Since 1992 the government has spent $1.2 billion on settlements and there is still $1.2 billion to go so there is obviously a lot more gravy train to go.
But it is not going to stop there; we have seen the debacle Key and Finlayson made over the foreshore and seabed which will lead to Pakeha getting fleeced; have a look at this old Q+A video with Finlayson and see the holes Key has created for ordinary New Zealanders to get screwed by Maori.
Muriel Newman continues to highlight how Maori are screwing us in her newsletter with this:
“Iwi have become experts at soft-soaping the public with talk of the ‘guardianship’ of assets. Let’s not be fooled by their rhetoric. Their agenda is to get their hands on as many public assets as they can, for private commercial advantage. This is evident in their claims for electromagnetic spectrum and of course, fresh water. If the Supreme Court supports the Maori councils’ claim for freshwater, and the government acquiesces to such a ridiculous notion, we will end up having to pay private tribal corporations every time we turn on the tap.
The reality is that the modern-day Treaty settlements are about money, not mana, and the drive for co-governance is about power not partnership.
Just last week Ngati Tuwharetoa, the so-called ‘guardians’ of Lake Taupo, announced that they intend to charge competitors in the New Zealand Ironman competition around $40 a head for the swimming leg of the race. This move to charge for the right to swim in the lake is expected to bring in around $56,000. It will be in addition to the income Tuwharetoa already receives from the commercial tourist ventures that use the lake, from a share of all fishing licence fees, and from an annual Crown payment of $1.5 million.”
Moving on—in another article on NZCPR titled ‘What's really going on in our schools?’ Fiona MacKenzie highlights what’s going on in schools and how our children are getting indoctrinated; in part, she wrote this:
“We were forewarned when the Maori Party’s Pita Sharples (Associate Minister of Education in the National-lead Government) began talking about “cultural education”. Little did we realise he intended systematic brainwashing of our young people in schools.
The Ministry of Education’s Curriculum Update entitled “Treaty of Waitangi Principle” encapsulates this process. This edict was sent out last year after an Education Review Office report (2011) claimed that many schools were finding this “Principle” difficult to implement. Now their difficulty may be because this “Principle” is indefinable, let alone impractical, goes against the grain and all New Zealanders’ customary rights in our multi-cultural democracy - but that hurdle hasn’t stopped our radical bureaucracy.
Our schools are being told:
- The Treaty affords Maori a dual set of rights.
- Schools must consult with the local Maori community about the school’s direction.
- Te reo Maori should be promoted in school management (i.e. in day-to-day staff communication and admin), as well as teaching and learning.
- All pupils need to learn Maori, gain knowledge and experience of important Maori concepts and customs, and understand and celebrate the place of Maori as tangata whenua.
- Schools will learn to share power, control, and decision-making while validating the unique position of Maori and recognizing the contribution Maori make to education.”
Fiona MacKenzie continues with:
“Race-based Discrimination:
Equality before the law and democracy (along with property rights) have long proven to be the foundations of strong and prosperous economies. Yet here at home and certainly in this Ministry, these tenets are being aggressively and persistently undermined.
Increasingly we see that anyone with a teaspoon of Maori blood are being given greater rights than any other member of the population (with no corresponding emphasis on their responsibilities). Meanwhile other New Zealanders are required to pay tax to fund the double-dipping, dictatorial control or free ride of Maori advisory boards, consultants, politicians, activists, guardians, and the recipients of numerous race-based grants and subsidies.”
Pakeha New Zealanders are getting taking for a ride; slowly but surely we—the majority—are becoming oppressed in our own country. Our kids are being indoctrinated and forced to learn a meaningless language while the rest of us get screwed. But it’s not going to stop there; we have now got the ‘constitutional review’ to contend with; this will mean the end of New Zealand as we know it. Read what NZCPR say about that:
“The government's constitutional review is a major threat to New Zealand's democracy. A biased
constitutional advisory panel and a consultation process that locks out non-Maori threatens to
permanently put power and privilege into the hands of the tribal elite.
This urgent threat to our future is quietly building momentum while most people are unaware of
what is at stake.
The constitutional advisory panel - an initiative of the Maori Party fronting for the tribal elite - has
embarked on a similar consultation process to that used to pass the atrocious Marine and Coastal Area
Bill into law. $4 million will be spent over the next 12 months to convince the public that we need a new 'written' constitution to enshrine the Treaty of Waitangi as superior law. A new constitution would give un-elected Judges supreme power over our elected Members of Parliament.
If we do nothing, under this new regime, non-Maori New Zealanders will become second class citizens
in their own land. All attempts to impose a race-based future on New Zealand - through a "written" constitution embracing the Treaty - should be strongly opposed……..”
If you are opposed to this and would like to stop it, you can help by signing NZCPR’s declaration for equality here.

Mate, it's called APARTHEID.

Finlayson is scum. A coward who will never stand for election, seeking instead the shadows and the safety of the party List (much like those other high-profile scum Margaret Wilson and Michael Cullen). It astounds me that our system allows unelected party apartchiks, boot-lickers and quasi-bureaucrats to hold Ministerial Warrant. It opens the door to all kinds of shenanigans.
He is - and I make this statement knowing the seriousness of it - utterly corrupt. I find it incomprehensible that a "man" who made his career negotiating on behalf of one participant in this goat-rodeo we call the "settlement process", can be given the position of now negotiating on behalf of the other.
It is a sham and a fraud. I'll say this for Corrupt Chrissie. The Corporate IWI's investment in him has certainly paid off hansomely.
GG - In apartheid South
GG - In apartheid South Africa a minority ruled but they funded it, while in NZ the minority Maori rule but are not paying a cent for it.
Apologies. 'Tis anonymawm

Yes, an important distinction
Yes, an important distinction, anonymawm. That's why in a post-Apartheid New Zealand (when the collapse inevitably comes), there is virtually no likelihood of the majority (a) murdering the formerly-privileged in droves and (b) destroying the country and its economy.
'Mate, it's called APARTHEID.

Gantt, apartheid is exactly what it is, but as Mawm said, in New Zealand the majority is funding it; we are paying for it; we are funding our own demise. I was speaking to a friend today and he summed it up like this: he seemed to think we fail and Maori win because they think and operate as a group, and we don't; they have a plan, and we don't.
As for the indoctrination stuff Fiona MacKenzie mentioned in her article, it's absolutely correct; I have seen it. As a former tertiary lecturer, I have been forced to teach Maori culture. Lecturers are even forced to teach it to foreign students who have not come here to learn anything about Maori. Think about that for a moment; they have come here to study say 'marketing' and then they learn about Maori--unbelievable.
In the video with Espiner, Finlayson couldn't answer half the questions--there are so many gaps--of course Maori are going to rip us off. 2000 kilometers of coastline are subjected to customary title which can include the sea, which means they could grab a percentage of any oil that is found.
But the real problem is Key; he would sell his mother for a vote.
Gantt, a question for you if
Gantt, a question for you if you're still around.
A friend of mine seems to think if we became a republic it would make the Treaty of Waitangi null and void and would make all the Maori nonsense go away. Do you think he's right on that?
If NZ became a Republic,
If NZ became a Republic, those afforded the task of writing a constitution would enshrine the TOW into it in ways we could barely imagine.
Take a look at the vanguard of the republican movement.

He believes strongly in the Republican Movement, that we are all created equal, Maori should be accorded more respect regarding their voice as the indigenous culture of Aotearoa, that our head of State should reflect New Zealand interests better following democratic processes and eagerly awaits the day when we become a republic.
Urban, thanks for the link;
Urban, thanks for the link; that answers my question easily; a republic is out of the question; I'll convey that to my friend.
"He believes strongly in the Republican Movement, that we are all created equal, Maori should be accorded more respect regarding their voice as the indigenous culture of Aotearoa, that our head of State should reflect New Zealand interests better following democratic processes and eagerly awaits the day when we become a republic."
A republic would be as bad if not worse than what we are facing today.
Look at the stooges appointed
Look at the stooges appointed to the constitutional review panel. I wouldn't empower them with the task of opening a can of beans, let alone drafting a foundational constitution, namely because it would end up reading more like one of those old Soviet constitutions than the U.S one.
Also, I see the Maori Party expect to be given a share of the about to be unveiled 4G cellular network spectrum. The governments offer of $30m was apparently rejected as tantamount to blankets & beads.
I predict that over the next 18 months, the Maori Party will slowly gravitate towards Labour. a) to strike a deal to preserve their seats , because Labour will slowly win back if they don't, and b) because when they don't get what they want from National, they'll go to Labour.

Exactly, Labour is their natural partner. So what has Key gained from all this nonsense with the Maori Party? Absolutely nothing; they have taken him for the monkey he is and treated him as such.
I have absolutely no idea why he is so averse to NZ First; they are far closer to National than the Maori Party ever were.
"I have absolutely no idea

I'd say it's because NZF still harbours a good deal of social conservatism amongst it's ranks - and that has no place in the contemporary National Party, which is "inclusive", "tolerant", "classically liberal" and "non-judgmental"

Urban, so essentially what you are saying is the National Party and Labour are one and the same. So, objectively, how different is NZF and the Conservative Party; are they that different and could they also be one and the same?
