My wife and I have just got back from touring the top of Coromandel Peninsula for a few days. This was our first trip to the top and it was fantastic. On arrival in Coromandel township we were greeted by a pig hunter returning from a hunt with a massive wild boar hung over his four-wheel-drive spare tire—he appeared to be very happy.
Most of the roads on both coasts were gravel, but not bad—just a little windy. The cliff-top road from Port Jackson to Fletcher Bay was a tad scary—very narrow with a sheer drop off that wouldn’t be nice to go over.
